It read: “To all Manchester United supporters,

“In the last few days, we have all seen the passion that makes football and our fans have a deep loyalty to this great club.

“You made your opposition to the European Super League clear, and we listened. We got it wrong, and we want to show that we can keep things right.”

“Although the wounds are raw and I understand that the stain will take time to heal, I am personally committed to rebuilding trust with my fans and learning from the message you convey with such conviction.

“We believe that European football needs to become more sustainable in the pyramid in the long run. However, we fully accept that the Super League was not the right way to go about it.

“In seeking to build a more stable foundation for the game, we failed to show enough respect for its deep-rooted traditions — counterrevolution, allegation, pyramid — and we are sorry for that.

“It is the largest football club in the world and we unreservedly apologize for the unrest that has taken place during these last few days.

It is right for us to be important.

“Manchester United have a rich heritage and we understand our responsibility to live our great traditions and values.

“The epidemic has given rise to many unique challenges and we are proud of the way I and Manchester United and its fans worldwide have reacted to the enormous pressure during this period.

“We also know that we need to communicate better with you, our fans, because you will always be in the heart of the club.

He said, “At the moment our priority is to continue supporting all our teams as they are pushing for the strongest possible finish of the season.

“In closing, I would like to recognize that it is your support that makes this club so great, and we thank you for that.

“Good luck,

“Joel Glazer”
