Chelsea transfer round-up: Blues handed Achraf Hakimi increase, Crystal Palace plot £15m swoop

Chelsea supervisor Thomas Tuchel loved a powerful begin to life at Stamford Bridge after taking on from Frank Lampard again in January.

Under Tuchel, the Blues gained the Champions League, secured a high 4 end and reached the ultimate of the FA Cup.

Now, Tuchel is trying to build on his success and he has stated that Chelsea will look to usher in “two or three” new signings this summer season.

Speaking final month, he stated: “Two or three could be very, very good. It’s a constant thing to never deny change.

“That you all the time deliver new vitality, new guys who question the previous beliefs, who problem all people within the coaching and in matches, so I believe it’s an excellent factor.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is eyeing additions to his squad this summer season

“We don’t need another seven and another complete turnover because it’s also our job to keep on improving, because we have still a young squad and it’s not about stealing from them the chance to prove it again that they are capable of growing and evolving.

“But now we have some concepts, after all, to make the group stronger and I believe this will all the time be a constructive factor to problem all of us.”

With that in mind, Mirror Football brings you the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Chelsea set to be handed Hakimi boost

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Inter Milan full-back Achraf Hakimi, but Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 22-year-old.

However, Chelsea could be set to be handed a boost in their pursuit of Hakimi, with journalist Rudy Galetti reporting that Tottenham full-back Serge Aurier is set to rejoin PSG.

Aurier said last month that he felt he had “reached the top of a cycle” at Tottenham and that it was “time to look elsewhere”.

He also said he was keen on a return to PSG, adding: “I’ve by no means hidden my need to return to PSG sooner or later.

“It’s my boyhood club and I’m still a PSG supporter, so I feel free to talk about it, but I don’t want people to think I’m just issuing a come-and-get-me plea and I’m not closing the door on anyone.

“If the membership does make a suggestion this summer season, PSG will definitely be amongst my high selections.”

According to Galetti, PSG have agreed a €20million (£17m) fee to re-sign Aurier and that the deal makes the potential move for Hakimi ‘more complicated’.

AC Milan ‘step up’ interest in Giroud

Despite Chelsea announcing earlier this month that they had triggered a one-year extension on Olivier Giroud’s contract, the veteran forward looks set to leave this summer.

AC Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Giroud and, according to the Evening Standard, they are ‘stepping up’ their interest in the France international.

It is claimed that Milan are ‘confident’ they can lure Giroud to Italy and that they are hoping to finalise a transfer ‘as early as this week’.

After impressing on mortgage at West Bromwich Albion final season, Conor Gallagher is reportedly being focused by Crystal Palace.

According to a report from the Sun, Palace are set to make a £15m bid for the 21-year-old.

The report states that Gallagher does need to keep at Chelsea in a bid to attempt to impress Tuchel.

However, given the power of Chelsea’s midfield choices and the supply of normal first workforce soccer within the Premier League, Gallagher may effectively be tempted by a transfer to Selhurst Park.
