‘Every thing [that has to do with Messi’s renewal] Is progressing sufficiently, ‘LaPorta told LaSexa’s show’Jugo‘ on Friday.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner was stigmatized in a transfer request last summer, and attempted to use a clause in his contract that enabled him to leave Nu Camp for free.

However, Barcelona insisted that the clause expired and any club signing Messi would have to pay £ 606 million.

Manchester City are the favorites to sign should Messi leave Catalonia, having enjoyed an incredibly successful period between 2008-12 at Noo Camp under current City boss Pep Guardiola.

He has also been linked with the Paris-Saint Germain move and his return to his native Argentina.

Despite being eliminated by PSG in the final 16 of the Champions League, Barcelona could still be on the course for a successful season.

On Saturday evening they play Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final and are third in the LaLiga table, just two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
