“I’d say $35 is greater than honest for your meals and drinks that I received throughout these dates. I view that as a good lady, I hope you may take into account reimbursing me. Thanks!”

But Alex didn’t appear sympathetic to the request, as she jokingly shared a gif of Boo from Monsters Inc falling asleep with the caption: “How I’m going to sleep tonight understanding I nonetheless have that $35.”

And she clarified that she had offered to pay on the dates – after people asked her on Twitter.

Her tweet went viral, with more 184,000 likes and sparked a huge debate on social media.

For the most part, people on Twitter appeared to agree with her.
