Reese Witherspoon reunited together with her ex-husband actor Ryan Phillippe to have fun their son Deacon’s milestone birthday.

The Legally Blonde star was pictured with Ryan and their 18-year-old “pup” and stated she could not be prouder of her son.

As they tucked into an enormous chocolate cake from upmarket bakers The Milk Bar Reese posted: “So proud of our boy … I mean our ADULT Son!

“How did this occur?!! @deaconphillippe is eighteen?!!

“One day he was trading Pokémon cards, singing Bruno Mars songs, and playing American Ninja Warrior in the backyard.

“The subsequent day, he’s taller than me, cooking the household steaks on the grill and making his personal music along with his greatest mates. My coronary heart is bursting with delight concerning the younger man he’s changing into.”

Deacon’s dad Ryan was equally proud and posted: “‘Happy 18th birthday to our gorgeous, smart, talented, and caring son. You are a true light in this world and are so loved by all who know you.

“‘We are fortunate to be your mother and dad. Love you, pup..(I’d say we did fairly good @reesewitherspoon).”

Musician Deacon was also pictured blowing out the candles on his birthday cake with his younger brother Tennessee by his side.

Reese shares Tennessee, nine, with Hollywood mogul Jim Toth.

She also has a 22-year-old daughter, Ava, with Ryan.

Ryan and Reese met at her twenty first birthday in 1997, and their attraction was stated to be immediate.

“I don’t know what came over me – maybe the seven Midori sours – but I told him, ‘I think you’re my birthday present.’ He thought it was so flattering, and now that I think about it… how embarrassing!” she told Jane magazine at the time.

They quickly moved in together and Ryan popped the question after they co-starred in 1999’s Cruel Intentions.

However after entering couple’s therapy following the birth of their two children the couple divorced in 2008.

“The biggest mistake is not doing that, ignoring it and having the marriage fall apart because of laziness,” Ryan advised the New York Daily News on the time.

Reese gave her view of the break-up to Vanity Fair in 2004 saying: “Marriage is hard. It’s not about expecting someone to make you happy every day or to complete your life.”

Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine she stated: “I got married when I was 23 and I had two kids by the time I was 27,” she advised ITV’s Lorraine.

“I don’t know, generally it’s good to know your self [before getting married].”

Ryan went on to have daughter Kai Knapp, nine, with ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp while Reese married talent agent Jim Toth in 2011 and their son Tennessee was born in September 2012.
