Queen’s Brian May delays cricket match as he lands helicopter in middle of pitch

The legendary guitarist left gamers and spectators greatly surprised when he determined to land his helicopter subsequent to the pitch of an ongoing sport on Saturday.

The 74-year-old was in city to attend the marriage of bandmate Roger Taylor’s daughter when he parked his chopper in the village of Mawnan Smith, close to Falmouth, Cornwall.

Flying in with spouse Anita Dobson, 72, the rocker’s arrival brought about the match between Falmouth 2nd XI and Helston 2nd XI on the Hine Downing Oval to be delayed for seven minutes as the couple vacated their non-public helicopter.

The wedding ceremony company then travelled by automotive to the venue roughly quarter-hour away.

A Falmouth Cricket Club spokesman stated: “The helicopter took about seven minutes to land.

“The membership knew it was coming, we do get one or two helicopters who land on the outfield occasionally.

“Everyone just stopped to watch this monster land in the middle of the game,” the spokesman continued.

“It dropped him off then went off to refuel then came back again.

‘It’s something you don’t see every day,” they exclaimed.

“They went to the wedding then came back and flew off at about 10.15pm.

“It was fairly a great sport however we lost. Being the second staff, there wasn’t a giant crowd.”

Eyewitnesses also remarked on the unusual celebrity sighting.

“Helicopter stops play,” Arthur Allen added.

“Falmouth 2nds match v Helston interrupted this afternoon by a helicopter bringing, so I’m told, Brian May and his wife to Roger Taylor’s daughter’s wedding.”
