A30 crash: Two dead in Citroen and lorry smash in Zelah Cornwall | UK | News

Emergency companies rushed to the A30 close to Zelah, Cornwall, at round 6.25pm after a Citroen Picasso, a Skoda Octavia, a HGV and a Vauxhall Zafira collided. Police have right this moment confirmed these travelling in the Citroen have died of their accidents.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police mentioned: “At 1825 hours on Monday 28th March 2022 a four-vehicle road traffic collision occurred involving a Citroen Picasso, a Skoda Octavia, a Large Goods Vehicle and a Vauxhall Zafira. The collision occurred on the A30 between Carland Cross and Chiverton Cross in the area of Zelah in Cornwall.

“As a results of the collision, the occupants of the Citroen suffered deadly accidents and had been pronounced deceased on the scene. All different events concerned in the collision sustained minor accidents.

“Local officers as well as officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene. Once a forensic investigation had been conducted the road was re-opened.

“Any individuals who witnessed the collision or has info relating to it – in explicit any dashcam footage, are requested to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting log quantity 0605 28th March 2022.”

Police continue to investigate the pile-up and traffic is being diverted in both directions as a result.

A National Highways spokesman said: “The highway stays closed to permit collision investigation works to happen which Devon and Cornwall Police report are more likely to proceed into the morning peak journey interval.

“National Highways have resources in attendance to assist with traffic management. Resources are also on scene in preparation for the conclusion of investigations to clear the carriageway of any remaining debris to ensure the safe reopening of the road.

“If this closure impacts in your deliberate route, please permit additional journey time. Plan forward, it’s possible you’ll want to re-route and even delay your journey.”
